The Dragon's Egg was designed because I got sick of using cardboard boxes to carry around my constructed decks. I've had a number of cards get bent, nicked and smudged because the storage and transportation options for my MTG decks were inadequate.

After looking for a solution, I didn't really see anything that excited me. In fact, I remember clearly thinking, "I can make something better than this." And so I did.

Committed To Helping You Protect Your MTG Decks

As a company, Power 9 Pro understands what makes you, the dedicated Magic player, focus week after week on building decks and protecting your cards--chiefly because we are dedicated players ourselves. That's why we started with the single deck and built the bag from the "card up." We asked ourselves the important questions--the questions that are obvious to Magic players but not obvious to profit driven executives and stuffy board members. Questions like, "What are the players doing with their cards?" Because we know and love the game so much, we knew that answering that question at every stage of the design process is what would make the Dragon’s Egg different from the start.

In answering this question, we decided that a removable shell to protect your decks in and out of the bag is a must-have. Before even walking out the door, your decks need to be protected. Since most players have multiple decks they're testing, we made the shell for carrying four decks of 60 Main Deck (MD) and 15 Sideboard (SB). As players, we also know that you bring constructed decks to limited tournaments. To make it easy for you, the Dragon’s Egg includes space for your limited deck and extra lands.

Finally, A Carrying Case For Your Magic Decks That is BOTH Durable and Practical

After years of being crammed into tight corners and overly crowded play areas, we made sure to make the Dragon’s Egg as compact as possible. There isn’t a lot of space for big bags because there's barely any space for us!

Keeping size and function in mind, there is also enough room for your dice, counters, pen and paper and your wallet, keys and iPod. Did we mention there’s also room for your trade binder? Well, there's room for that too. Power 9 Pro focuses on the necessities of the Magic player and nothing else.

We also understand that the cards aren't "just cards;" they're worth a significant amount of money! We trade ruthlessly for our cards, hoarding our spells tightly to us so we can lash out in triumphant glee while smashing our opponents' faces. The Dragon’s Egg is designed for the players that take the game a bit more seriously than everyone else. We have multi-hundred dollar decks (if not multi-thousand dollar using the Power Nine cards!) and we can't handle our cards getting bent, scratched, nicked, or any other kind of damage. We want our cards to retain their value in case we want to trade up later (or if we need rent money!) Even when we get a small bend on a common, we're peeved.

That's why we didn't stop with the removable shell or the compact design. That’s why the Dragon’s Egg tournament bag has quality and durability written all over it. The removable shell is made of a durable, recycled plastic and the casing material is proven and tested to be long lasting and water resistant. So, if your matchup is a like a melting of Ice Age, happens to take you through a blizzard or if your buddy just spills his soda on the table, you'll know that your decks and the other contents of the bag are safe.

To keep the Dragon's Egg off the ground a bit more, we made sure there were feet on this egg. Rubber-spikes not only keep the bag elevated off the table or ground, but the spikes also look more in line with Magic's cut-throat-worlds.

Since we understand all Magic players come in different shapes and sizes, though mostly all humanoid, the Dragon's Egg has an adjustable/removable strap. To make putting the bag on easier and faster (and cooler), there's a buckle in the middle of the strap.

The Dragon's Egg is small, compact and carries a big punch, kinda like Dragon Whelp. Dragon Whelp and the picture of the hatching dragonling was actually the inspiration for the name "Dragon's Egg."
